SJM: So where in the world are you?

Lindsey: Back in New York, we just packed up our home in LA and just moved back here.

SJM: When did you realize that music was something you wanted to do?

Lindsey: I knew at a really young age that music was accessible to me. I grew up in Woodstock and we not only had music programs but so many musicians grew up and lived here. Some have been very successful and it was like everywhere you turned you would run into a great musician there. It was something that was engrained in me, with my mom and dad both being musicians and artists.  In school I always wanted to be in the orchestra and sing leads and solos in chorus. I just had an eagerness to be better in my craft and ultimately, I became obsessed with it.

Philadelphia-based contemporary jazz bassist Gerald Veasley and acclaimed vocalist Carol Riddick collaborated to create a compelling tribute to Nina Simone with I Got Life: The Live Experience – The Music of Nina Simone. Grammy Voters:

I always wondered how a music artist goes from being nominated at the Grammy Awards , to hearing their name called after the statement; “And the winner is…”I was given the opportunity to find the answer by interviewing two active Grammy Awards voters, world renowned music artists; Christian de Mesones and Terry Wollman. The thought provoking interviews went well beyond the process of Grammy Voting but included a dive into their musical journeys and their personal contributions to the music world. For the sake of my assignment I will stick to information and thoughts on the process of Grammy Voting.

Smooth Jazz Cruise 26.1, February 7, 2026. What an incredible treat to have the legendary Kenny G as the event’s special guest! Marcus Miller interviewed Kenny in the afternoon spotlighting Kenny’s amazing musical journey. It was so interesting hearing Kenny talk about how his international and first mega-hit & my favorite of his songs, “Songbird” came into existence and rose to fame. Later that night,  Kenny treated us to an amazing concert. I’ve never seen an artist receive a standing ovation from the first song they opened with to the last with which they closed, but I witnessed it with Kenny during this performance! He really is the greatest of all time in sax. If you’ve never seen him,  GO!
